As a family of six juggling school activities, church activities, a small business and a lawyer dad’s long hours, we often feel pulled in four different directions at once. Amid the crowded schedules, we desperately try to maintain enough \u00abfree time\u00bb to enjoy personal interests and quality family time. It’s n<\/em>ot an easy task,\u00a0but opportunities for family togetherness are all around us. Some require planning, some happen spontaneously. Some require us<\/em> to sacrifice time, others to sacrifice money.<\/p>\n

From what I’ve experienced, the one factor that determines the true success of \u00abquality family time\u00bb really has nothing to do with the time, money or planning, but rather the ability to create a moment (even a brief moment) where the family feels a \u00aboneness\u00bb that can often start to disappear when you are constantly moving in separate directions.<\/p>\n
