What an opportunity for family fun!<\/em><\/p>\n

No matter what age the kids might be, backyard camping can be a real option. \u00a0No worries if it doesn’t go as planned, the house is steps away!<\/p>\n

Camping can also lead the way to active family play, which as a Together Counts\u2122 Ambassador I like to make sure is a part of our family\u2019s schedule. Here are some fun ideas that can be used for backyard camping to get the entire family involved in the fun!<\/p>\n

Make an Unnatural Trail<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 This simple conservation activity for kids highlights what is natural and what is not while getting kids active outdoors. \u00a0It could be set up in a small space as an I-Spy game or in a larger yard, as a nature walk.<\/p>\n

Camping Bingo<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 This cute free printable is from Thirty Handmade Days and works in your backyard as well as out in the wilderness\u2026no need to find a bear!<\/p>\n

Make Dinosaur Fossils<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 This could be a fun outdoor activity or make them ahead and the backyard campers can swap.<\/p>\n

Outside Play Dice<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Keep the outdoor play going with this DIY die. \u00a0You could customize it with jumping jacks, hopscotch or other activities to get their heart rates pumping.<\/p>\n

Make Stick People<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 What a lovely craft from Red Ted Art that can follow a little nature \u201chike\u201d looking for good sticks.<\/p>\n

Play a Camouflage Game<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 I love this idea for younger kids to show how animals blend in with their environment.<\/p>\n

Make Grilled Frozen Pizza<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 I love this idea from Living Locurto to create a yummy outside meal on the grill with a frozen pizza.<\/p>\n

Make Campfire Cones<\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0You don\u2019t need an actual campfire to make these s\u2019more treats \u2013 a grill will work great!<\/p>\n

My kids are going to adore creating our own backyard campground!<\/p>\n
