As a partner of the Together Counts program\u2122, the U.S. Soccer Foundation<\/a> is committed to helping young people in underserved communities across the country. Our programs, including Soccer for Success<\/em><\/a>, help children embrace an active and healthy lifestyle while nurturing their personal growth through trained coach-mentors.<\/p>\n

Soccer for Success<\/em> has transformed participants\u2019 lives, both on and off the field. Santos, a participant from Florida, demonstrates the impact of our program.<\/p>\n

Santos struggled.\u00a0He didn\u2019t like going to school and his grades were plummeting. He had a hard time connecting with his peers and teachers. Though his family encouraged Santos to improve, his grades and attitude were not getting better.<\/p>\n

Santos\u2019 grandmother had an idea. She decided to sign him up for Soccer for Success<\/em> in an effort to get him on the right track. After five months, Santos\u2019 coach-mentor noted that his attitude changed. He started communicating with his coach-mentors and his peers.\u00a0Santos said he enjoys being active and learning about nutrition. He also said he enjoys attending Soccer for Success<\/em> because \u201csoccer is a universal language.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are many kids, like Santos, who need an extra push to success.\u00a0 Soccer for Success<\/em> is a vehicle to success that is translatable to any child, regardless of age, sex, economic background or circumstance. By surrounding kids with caring coach-mentors and their peers in a safe environment, the U.S. Soccer Foundation is inspiring young people to live healthier, active lives and is making a positive difference in the lives of children who need it most.<\/p>\n
