Visit your local pumpkin patch. Pick up some small pumpkins (less mess) from the pumpkin patch to use for Punkin\u2019 Chunkin\u2019. Have the kids see how far they can throw them \u2014 winner gets crowned Punkin\u2019 Chunkin&#8217; Champion!<\/p>\n<p>2. Take advantage of the cooler weather and get the family outside. Challenge the kids to a backyard game of soccer or football. Fall is also a great time to take a family walk or bike ride around your neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>3. Put the kids to work outside, but make it fun. Hand the kids a rake and whistle while you work. Don\u2019t forget to jump for joy in the leaf pile when you\u2019re finished.<\/p>\n<p>4. Pumpkins are not the only star of October. Bring the whole family to your local apple orchard and fill up some baskets with this healthy fruit to snack on between Halloween treats.<\/p>\n<p>5. Make those apples last longer by making home-made apple sauce. Bring the kids into the kitchen to help.
