4 Ways to Keep Calm and Carry on this Holiday Season
Halloween has come and gone and those pumpkins are being replaced with copious amounts of cornucopia. As it begins to cool down outside, it can feel like the Turkey Trot will never end. While this season is busy, it is also one of the most enjoyable times of the year. Don’t forget to take a breather from the holiday fun and exhaustion to enjoy time with your family.
In the spirit of the season we offer 4 tips to keep building healthy and fun habits as a family this holiday season.
- While the kids may seem to only have eyes for pie, encourage them to try a new vegetable. Holidays are a great time to sneak a healthy, new dish into the kids’ routine.
- In addition to eating the turkey, run for it too. Find a Turkey Trot near you and bring the whole family to work off the yummy dinner by walking or running the race. This also makes for a great family photo if you are so inclined to dress the kiddos up as turkeys for the race.
- Weeknights in November can be so busy. Make sure to avoid that last minute dinner scramble and keep some healthy frozen items in the house.
- After the exhaustion that is Thanksgiving dinner, make lunch easy on yourself and utilize the leftover turkey for a quick sandwich or tasty homemade turkey soup. The kids won’t know what hit them when they bite into the delicious, healthy and repurposed meal.
