Spring is in the Air

The saying goes, April showers bring May flowers. With April in full swing, why not take full advantage of the refreshing rain this coming month, throw those wellies on the kids’ feet and take a long puddle-jumping walk. Not only will the kids love it, but you’ll get some good exercise and quality time in as well.

In addition to jumping in puddles, try adding these family friendly activities to your April to keep living a healthy and active lifestyle together.
1. Add spring fruits like mangoes and strawberries into the mix. Try making a smoothie or add to oatmeal, salsa or salad. The nutrients and spring flavors abound fresh, frozen or canned!
2. Don’t forget the spring vegetables. Did you know that spring is the best time to eat Asparagus? Try adding it to a lunch or dinner this month.
3. With the weather warming up try a new sport like tennis or soccer, which can involve the whole family. Check out your local resale shop for inexpensive and refurbished equipment.
