Darden Restaurants Make the Change

By now you may have heard the great news that Darden Restaurants, the world’s largest full-service restaurant company and owner of Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants, has vowed to reduce calories and sodium in their meals and provide greater variety on its children’s menus. During the press conference last Thursday, First Lady Michelle Obama praised Darden for this “breakthrough moment” and doing something to fight obesity that no restaurant company has done before. We at Together Counts would like to thank Darden for taking this important step towards reducing obesity in America. This move shows that major food brands are listening and focused on providing quality, nutritious meals for families.
